UPDATED 2009/09/18 with Back to School clothes!
With the gracious consent and assistance of Arialvetica and sweetydyana, I've developed a super-enhanced version of their "Sort Out Your Wardrobe" spreadsheet!
This document will help you keep track of your clothes so you know what's available, what you have, what you can get now, what you want for later, and what you don't want. Some of the things you can do with it include finding the least expensive items available to you (that you don't already have), to help complete your clothing purchase goals, and finding the most expensive items you do have, to crush people in challenges.
What's new in this version?
1. The Back to School clothes have been added, along with the rest of the Bollywood clothes.
2. The "unowned" queries now exclude those strange "impossible to buy" items that exist as drawings but can't be seen at Nine's even for the highest level bimbos. (Thank you to
drivingmisshayley90 for pointing out this problem!)
3. The "Ugh! list" queries now automatically exclude items you already own.
4. Even more queries have been added, and since the "Queries" page is now so long, I added the ability to "fold up" portions of it using buttons on the left side of the screen.
5. It makes no sense to keep an item on your Wish list once you already have it, so I made it so that now any line with more than one "X" in it shows up with a red background.
6. Image links are now completed; you can now click on the name of any garment in the list and have a browser window open showing exactly what it looks like.
Wait a minute - I'm new to all this! What do I need to work this thing?
You'll need a spreadsheet program, such as Microsoft Excel. I do my editing on this file with Excel 97, so it should work in that or any newer version. And, if you don't have and can't afford Excel, try downloading OpenOffice! It does everything Excel (and Word and PowerPoint) does, but it's free - not just free for a few months, but totally and permanently free! I also test with OpenOffice, so there shouldn't be any problems with that, either. (You could also try any other spreadsheet program you might have - most of them claim to work with Excel files - but I can't say whether it'll work or not.)
If you have any of these programs, all you should have to do to get started is download the file, and then double click on it to start your spreadsheet program. You should see the rest of the instructions on screen in your spreadsheet program once you've done that. If you have any trouble with this, send me a PM and I'll try to help you out.
Okay, how do I get this fantastic new spreadsheet?
You can
download
it
from
here
.
And what if I want to see the old versions?
They're still where they always were; click on these links to get my September 9 or August 20 versions, sweetydyana's July 21 version, or Arialvetica's July 13 version. (There was a July 7 version, but I never used it, and I don't think it's still available.)
I'm already using an older version - how do I upgrade?
1. Check which version you're using. (Unless you changed it, the file name should have the date in it - and newer versions also have the date at the top right of the "Queries" page. If you're still not sure, the August 20 version was the first to have separate pages for "Queries" and "Clothes"; the July 21 version has only one page but includes the Harry Potter stuff, at the bottom of the Clothes list; and the July 13 version doesn't.)
2. Download and open the new version. Click the "Clothes" tab at the bottom of the window, then select "Sort" from the "Data" menu*. In the dialog box that appears, look for and select the date of your old version in the "Sort by" field, and click "OK" to move the records into the same order as in your old version - this could take a minute or two. (You won't actually see columns with these names on the screen, because they're hidden, but they're still available for sorting.)
*. Depending on which version of which program you're using, the "Sort" option could be grayed out, or could respond with an error message. If so, you'll need to select "Protection" from the "Tools" menu and "Unprotect Sheet" from the submenu, enter the password (which is the name of Arialvetica's pet) in the dialog box that appears, and try again.
3. Leave the new version open, and open your old version. Go to the Clothes list, select everything in that big block of pink cells, and hit Ctrl-C to copy this data to the clipboard.
4. Switch back to the new file, click on the first pink cell in the Inventory column (make sure you're really at the top of the page and not just the top of the screen!), hit Ctrl-V to paste in your data, and save your new and improved file!
5. (optional) To restore the intended sort order, click "Data" and "Sort" again, and set it to "Sort by" "Type" "Ascending", "Then by" "ID" "Descending", but before you click "OK", click "Options" instead. There, look in the "sort order" box for a new item saying "Top, Skirt, Socks," etc., pick that, and then "OK" your way out. (For Excel 07, forget about the "Options" button and change "Smallest to largest" to "Custom" instead. This should cause a box to pop up where you can choose "Top, Skirt, Socks," etc. as above.)
I found an error in the Clothes list -
whassamatta wit you?
Hey, lots of people have contributed information to this file, but we still don't know everything (we're bimbos, after all!
) - and the site owners do occasionally change how things work, too, so errors are bound to crop up. The spreadsheet is set up with "Protection" so that normally only the pink boxes can be changed, but if you do need to make changes elsewhere (or if you want to try your hand at adding your own features), you can do as explained at the * above to "Unprotect" it.
However, if you do have a correction or an improvement, we'd really appreciate it if you'd also tell us about it, either by posting a reply here or by sending me a PM. That way, we can incorporate it into the next version and share your wisdom with everybody!
So, who are all these people who've contributed, anyway?
Honestly, I don't know myself.
I'm still something of a newbie around here, so other than Arialvetica and sweetydyana (who've been absolutely amazing, both for putting up with my constant eMails, and for giving me their blessing to build upon their work), I haven't had lots of contact with other bimbos. I have a list of contributors, but I don't know much about who contributed what, so I'm just going to list them all alphabetically and give a big "thank you" to all of you who've helped get things this far.

If you're such a newbie, how'd you end up taking control of this project?
I didn't "take" control. As far as I'm concerned, this is still Arialvetica's baby, but she passed it on to sweetydyana, and now she's passed it on to me. I really didn't intend to get this involved with it, and the only reason I'm involved at all is - well, when I found this, I thought it was super cool, but I saw that it could be even better, and so I started making suggestions - faster than the two of them could handle!
We decided that it'd be easier all around if I just published my own version, and so, here I am.
Okay, do you have anything else planned?
Hmm. "And now, for my next trick ..." - I don't know.
It'll probably be something to help with color coordination - to help you distinguish things in "purplish pink" from those in "peachy pink" - but I'm still not sure how to best go about it. Beyond that, I do have one or two other ideas bouncing around in my head, but I'm not sure they're even doable in a spreadsheet - so, even if you're not some sort of superstar spreadsheet jockey, I'd love to hear your ideas, too!
And, if you are a superstar spreadsheet jockey
, or if you think it'd be better in some other format entirely, please feel free to dig in and give it a shot! Any and all assistance is always welcome!

I love how the clothes are now on a separate tab.

I haven't "taken control". As far as I'm concerned, this is still Arialvetica's baby, and sweetydyana is still the official caretaker. The only reason I'm involved at all is - well, when I found this, I thought it was super cool, but I saw that it could be even better, and so I started making suggestions - faster than the two of them could handle! We decided that it'd be easier all around if I just published my own version, and so, here I am.
LMAO! I found this part of your post very amusing.

Way to go! I had just gotten the old Sort Your Wardrobe and was thinking there might be a better, handier way. Going in the order of Nine's and with the items you can't buy being grayed out will help me out immensely! Thank you to all who worked on this project!

I love it!
I only have two questions
1. What is the plan when new clothes are added so that we can easily update our existing sheet with the new clothes, but not lose what we have filled out.
2. Do you play the other site? The one that must not be named? Cuz I would love to see something like this for that too

I guess the same as it is now - we'll add another hidden column to the next version with the sort order as it was in this version, and you can use that to rearrange the rows temporarily before you copy and paste. Eventually we'll have to drop support for versions older than so many months, tho, to keep the file down to a reasonable size.

Sorry, my French is really rusty.

Val Cee, I really love these new calculations. Especially the ones that help me put together an all-orange outfit (that is HARD!)

Okay, I need your help, folks. As I said in the OP the new hyperlinks are unfinished. I've done all of the Tops, Skirts, and Pants, and most of the Socks and Dresses, but it would save me a lot of time if other people could send me lists of the image URLs for all the other stuff from Nine's. If you want to help, I suggest you send me a PM rather than clogging up this thread with big ol' lists. (Note that the simulator doesn't help much here, because it uses its own copies of the image files, and I'm looking for the original missbimbo.com URLs only.)

And on the subject of color, I think the next thing I'm going to work on (after the hyperlinks are done) is adding some sort of auxiliary color field, for helping to distinguish between pink with white accents and pink with black accents (totally different look) or between the peachy pink of the older clothes and the purplish pink of the newer ones (which look absolutely hideous together) - but again, I need your suggestions. How should this work? How should it be shown in the file, so that it's not too confusing? How should the color queries deal with the auxiliary colors? Let me know how you envision this!
Offline

I don't know if you can do this in Excel, since I totally suck at spreadsheets...
But could you maybe have colored selections that would be in the primary shade of the clothing item, and clicking that shows the clothes with that primary color? Then an additional option to sort by the secondary (accent) color.

Ah I love it! But I only have Excel viewer so can't actually do anything with it.. being able to look but not touch is awful!
EDIT: Ok I'm downloading the free trial just for this!

Get OpenOffice! ValCee made it so this works in OpenOffice, which is a freeware version of Microsoft Office.

Beat me to it! Open Office works great, and you can do all the same things as you can with MS Office.

Seconded - or rather, thirded!
(I edited the top message to include this recommendation and links to the site.)

I have a question about updating the chart myself for the Bollywood clothes... I've entered the items in the chart, and I thought I'd copied everything correctly, but it shows up as a "0" on the summary page =\
Any idea what I need to change? I'm using Open Office, btw.
(It might be a good idea in general for someone to just write a guide on how to update the list in the future.)
