Maybe Aloha Mora (spelling?) to open locked doors.

I have a few questions though. I haven't read all the books so I don't know the answers, but I was wondering do we ever find out the connection between Voldemort and Harry. Like the wand in olvanders that only the two of them were destined for (1st movie) or why he survived Voldemorts attack?

Nah it's just I only just got into harry potter properly. I mean, I saw all the films but never read the books cos I just couldn't be bothered. Then in english, I needed a book to read, randomly grabed the prisner of askaban and loved it big_smile So I bought the rest of them and I'm saivng deathly hallows for my holiday in a few weeks

Not sure if you got this far, but Professor Trewlany made a prediction when Voldemort was first in high power that a boy born in June would be able to conquer the Dark Lord. Aka the "Chosen One." Well that could have either been Neville or Harry (weird, huh?), but Voldemort picked Harry. When he attacked him as a baby though, the spell didn't just bounce off of Harry and hit Voldemort (The spell bounced off Harry because when his mother Lily, who didn't have to die, gave her life for him, she surrounded Harry with an old enchantment that made it so Voldemort couldn't touch him - which is why Quirrell dies in the first book when he tries to). The spell left part of Voldemort in Harry, which is why Harry was a Parselmouth and had such a similar wand, and could almost get into Voldemorts mind at times. After Voldemort dies though, I'm pretty sure Harry loses all connection he had with him...so he can't speak to snakes anymore and stuff like that. I would definitely suggest that you read the books though! They do so much more justice to the plot than I ever could!

Oh and if I'm wrong about something (it's been a bit since I've read the books) someone should correct me! wink

When I read the part when Dumbledore says to Harry that Voldy had to choose between him and Neville I chuckled ! And then I started thinking, well maybe Neville really is the Chosen one.. Voldy just chose the wrong baby..but why would Rowling write about Harry if he's not the Chosen one.. yeah, silly me.
Anyway, Harry is the Chosen one. I forgot the name of the three brothes tale, but that's how the book got it's name - Deathly Hallows, I mean.
Harry had the cloak, the stone and Dumbledore had the Elder Wand.

Dumbledore explains a lot of things in the HBP and in the last book. Especially when Harry "dies".. really, I was always confused about that part. Did he really die, or he was just unconscious ?

I always loved the twins! They're so funny and mischievious! For some reason Fred was my favourite so i was bummed when he died sad

I was disapponted at how many people died in the last book. It was bam. bam.bam and then there's noone left! I don't actually know how many times i cried during reading it!

I hated the fact that Lupin and Tonks died leaving poor little Teddy. But i was so happy with the ending. But to be honest, JK couldn't really kill Harry off!!

I think Voldemort sort of made Harry Potter the Chosen One. Like it was as though either of the boys could have been the boy, but Voldemort ultimately made the decision as towards who could defeat him. I wonder how he chose it though - because both Harry and Neville had great parents!

I don't know about the death business though...that was just sort of weird. But I guess no one knows what being that close to death is really like. *shrugs*

Sorry I haven't had a chance to come on and join the conversation. So has anyone seen the movie yet? I was reading through and didn't see anything about it. Just curious. I haven't yet and won't get a chance until next week.

So my favorite character in any of the books is Tonks. I love her personality.

It killed me reading the last one, I cried lol. I felt it was done kinda nonchalant. It was just mentioned that their bodies were there. Anyone else get that from it?

Yes, I agree. Just the fact Voldemort choose Harry made him the Chosen one.
I wonder that myself. It would be a really great addition if Rowling wrote a book about Voldemort's life. Maybe she could include the parts from his diary ( the one Harry destroyed ).. that would be rather interesting.
And once again I agree about the death part. I guess Rowling didn't clarify that part on purpose.
