DELIRIUM by Lauren Oliver is the January book!
^By ChantillyLace84 (Official book club banner maker)
There is a new book every month.
Anyone is welcome, however some of the books discussed aren't younger reader appropriate. This is a very mellow book club. If you don't want to read the current book, you don't have to, just come back the next month to see the next selection. However if you aren't part of the current month's book discussion you will not be eligible for next month's book selection.
Here are the few rules for the book selections:
-It has to be available in other formats besides Hardcover
-It has to be still in print
-It has to be under 500 pages (Unless there is a special circumstance)
-Also it is best if it isn't Stephen King, he scares some members here.
There isn't a set genre that we read, pretty much anything is game.

I think we have pretty much covered talking about Lucy Sullivan, although if anyone else wants to add anything to this new thread about it, feel free to do so.
I still haven't started Tender is the Night though. I am such a slacker.

Yea I figured that if there is a date I might get back on track. I figured thursdays seem to be the steady date.
I am busy creating a book database to keep track of my books, as I go shopping and can't remember what I own. If I read them, then I would remember, but I have too many books to read them all right now.
I have already done 1 of my 3 bookcases, the littlest one, the one for mostly mass markets, and I ended up with 107 books from that alone. I have a long ways to go yet.
However tomorrow is my last day of school! YAY! FINALLY!

Hmmm. My tests end May 22, so if I get the book over the weekend I should definitely be able to jump in the discussion.
Do you mean your last day of school ever?!?

yep I get my associates (2 year) degree in accounting! It only took me 5 years.
I am so tired of school. I was all excited when I graduated from high school then I realized I needed to do it all again. I only needed 2 more classes Speech and Financial Presentations. My speech class is online where I only have to come to school for that to give speeches and I gave my last speech last week, and than tomorrow in Financial Presentations we get our finals back hopefully. I am not to impressed with my teacher. We learn just as much when she isn't there. We had assignments that we handed in a month ago and they still aren't graded, so I am not too sure the finals will be graded yet. They were the stupidest finals ever. She said the class period before that the final would be mostly multiple choice with a couple short answers, however the final was all short answers, so I was happy I kind of studied before class on the stuff I got wrong on the midterm.

Bib, last year I kept a list of every book I read...I need to keep that up, it's verrryyy helpful. My memory is not the best.
I entered into a bunch of reading challenges hosted on blogs & keep track of what I'm reading on my blog. It helps me keep up. I found it to be REALLY helpful, plus I have my trusty back up brain to make notes for when doing reviews.

Thanks for continuing it over here
I have a spreadsheet for all of the books I have read, and I have since 1999, since middle school. I decided that I read so many books anyway that I shouldn't have to read anything new for book reports so on my sheet I include the title, author, pages, date finished, and rating out of 5 stars.

Cross-Stitching. I spend the extra money and get the UK ones as the US ones bore me, and are less bright. I like colors
Plus the UK ones usually come with free kits and tools.
I rip out the patterns I like and put them in a huge binder and organize them by pattern. I have had to get seperate binders for Animals and Seasonal.

Haha there are 2 books that have been made for that purpose

It's neat to get books from used places because you never know if they have been autographed. Since I am putting the copyright of the book in my possession, I have seen a couple of autographs that I would never have noticed. I have one from W. Michael Gear and Kathleen Gear

I like Half Price books too, they have one in Minneapolis that we always go to.
Currently though I love Salvation Army for books because they are the cheapest, even though their prices have gone up. 1.50 for Hardcover adult, 1.00 for Hardcover Childrens, .75 for Adult Paperback/Mass Market and .50 for Children's paperback/mass Market/picturebooks. At Good Will and Savers the Hardcovers are at minimum 3 dollars, and it always depends on how the people pricing in the back are feeling.
I currently and looking at a book I got at Half Price that is a Dana Girls Mystery by Carolyn Keene (Nancy Drew), book 2, copyright 1934 original, that I got for 3 dollars.

Haha that's what I thought too. I mean with Lucy I read it in like 3 days. I read a bit more last night and it was a lot easier than when I started, I think I just had to get used to thinking in that manner again.

I have the book, I'll be in the discussion soon

Is anybody ready to get the discussion going? Break the thread in a little? I've been kind of busy and not motivated to get on the forums lately. Anyway, trying to remember the book now...what story or tape side surprised you/did you like the most? I was surpised when Clay's tape said he didn't belong on the list...felt like a bit of a cop-out. And I liked Zach's story with him stealing the notes. For some reason I thought that was the worst thing anyone did. Such a pointless jerk move.
