Because it IS an economic strain on taxpayers-that's why it brings other countries down, and why SHOULDN'T they becaome citizens? What is one single GOOD reason that someone who wants to live longterm in a country that is not there own should be able to live there without the same responsibility as the rest of the country's legal citizens?

like i said im not a citizen.. i go about and do the same thing as everyone else.. so what ur ssaying is i dont have the same responsibilities and rights, just cause i dont wanna pay 1800 dollars and sit a test..

actually, no. you don't have the same responsibilities or rights, and that's not ME saying that.

Wioth no visa or green card, you CAN'T work here legally. You CAN'T have the same responsibility because you CAN'T pay taxes, being that you are unable to legally obtain employment. You can't complain about unfair working environments. You can't vote in elections. You can't get financial assistance if you are destitute. And so on.

What is so hard to understand about that?

I distinctly remember saying that we should make it easier for people to obtain citizinship. You're being selective in your reading.

I live in Spain, tons of Africans come here in small boats. And not so long ago spanish people wasn´t welcomed in Europe because we were like "illegal" inmigrants. Now people of my country seem to have forget that, and now that we are "rich" we can say go back to your poor country.

I think everyone in this world deserves help and charity. You can be illegal in a country because the law say so but you can´t never be an "ILLEGAL" human or person.

Think twice before saying don´t give them charity, they are illegal go back to you country! C´mon. I´m upset of reading this kind of stuff here, I though people were "better" here. It´s so sad...I´m really disappointed with some of you sorry.

Think about what would happen if you were the other person. If you are forced to leave everyone that you love and ervery place that you have met to try to win money and help your beloved ones. Or because there´s a war and you are in danger.

This people doesn´t come here to steal, they come here to try to have a better live....a live. They work hard, they accept jobs that we don´t want, they have a lot of childrens and help our population to not be so old....

People seem to forget that most people are immigrants or descends of immigrants. I hope the reasons that people leave their counties escaping from cruel situation will never happen to those who dont want these people in there countries. the countries closing there doors on immigrants are the ones that have exploited native people and have pillaged our people countries leaving behind war torn depleted people and lands.
Look back in history and see that migration is part of countries success.
