I would say I'm more intelligent. School has always come very easy for me, and I'd like to think I'm fairly smart, but man I am blonde! (even though my hair is brunette now
) I'm the first to admit I'm quite the ditz sometimes.

im intelligent but so oftn i have no common sense. im extremely logical in the sense of what other people should do, and with all serious problems i can use my common sense, but so many little thing just lose me entirely

I'm intelligent. no common sense at all......

I think I have both, all be it not to a high standard but I don't lack either.

I'm intelligence, I have no common sense.

Fortunately, I have enough of both

Just what I was thinking about myself!

Some of the most intelligent ppl I know have no common sense whatsoever and are the most dreamy, dippy people I know. Serious, my friend has a degree in chemistry, a masters in marine biology, and PHD in something or the other and is now working on a second PHD, but she NEVER looks before she crosses the road! Its a miracle she hasn't been run down more times than I'd like to count!
I'd say I have a bit of both. I'm fairly intelligent, and I have enough common sense and am street wise enough to get me by.
I wish there was a bit of both option!

I am totally a common sense person. My husband on the other hand is a total intelligence person. He makes me laugh with some of the things he does especially with how smart he is. He's a chemist, but there's times where he'll say/do something that I'm like how can you not know that!?!? I'm sure he thinks the same of me sometimes lol

Well my mom is incredibly intelegent, but when it comes to common sense she like huh? whaaaat? so i do take a little after her. i've been called a geek in junior school and then it transformed to being intellegent in high school, however the common sense depends on what side of the bed i wake up lol. usually the common sense in me needs thinking before comming out

Ω - I have to say both, with a slight leaning toward intelligence (every once in a while I don't think things through and ... well ... they don;t work out as well as they should have
) All in all, though, I think common sense will serve you better in life than intelligence.

I have both
though there are lots of arty things I'm really bad at..
I usually use intelligence to mean how long it takes someone to learn/understand something from a book or other instructions.
coomon sense usually assocate to means you can exstrapilate from other situations you have been in so see why may or may not work.
though also remember...

But Einstein was one of those people who took quite a while to understand concepts so I don't think your definition is correct.

Clever people rarely have common sense. I'm just lucky I guess because I have both for the majority of the time

I think it may not be broad enough as in the case of enstein were to you fit in his createivity? As he didn't steal all his ideas from the swiss patent office.. As i recall he didn't do very well at uni either...
so maybe intelligence can be teh ability to learn, and extrapulate answers from a known body of knowledge? Still is still not quite everything..

well...either way, I agree with goatlady's logic so this poll should be based on that!

But then where does savants fit in?
Offline

sorry mental illness is not something I have good understanding of. Nor have I meet a savat to even make a general comment. So i'll punt to someone else on that subject.

I'm gonna say both. I don't which one I have more of - I'm intelligent because I was a good student and I have common sense just because I tend to be practical. So I guess the common sense is natural and the intelligence is acquired.

I can be very analytical, but sometimes the on/off switch malfunctions

I'm not the brightest crayon in the box, but common sense has taken me far
same..

I'm totally intelligence. I have awesome grades and I'm a medical student and I'm great at anything I can study and be analytical about, and overall culture and science...
BUT
I'm not pratical and have little common sense.
I'm incredibly dumb when it comes to simple day-to-day stuff and people are amazed about how dumb I am about those things, I'm always calling my mum or my bf to ask stupid questions like "do I have to add water to roast potatoes" or "i'm completely lost in the city" (when I'm like 200metres from the pretended place) or "is something supposed to be doing something"... but I'm learning, I'm learning... slowly...
I'm also pretty naive and will believe mostly anything that I'm told...

Offline

I guess that I have a balance of both, but sometimes my common sense is a little off, lol
