I am just wondering what your thoughts are regarding tattoos, specifically for inked women as opposed to inked men. I have a few tattoos, some of which I regret, but most I am still completely happy with. What is your opinion of tattoos and about woman who have them? Do women that have them seem a bit more (pardon my english) haggard to you? Do you think that it is okay to express yourself this way, or should the human body be left as is? If you feel that the body is a temple, do tattoos really "stain" the body? This has always been an interesting topic to me. If you also have tattoos, let us know what they are! I am also wanting to know, for those who have tattoos, what part of the body was most painful for you? This is a pretty broad topic I guess.
My tattoos consist of two large moths on my back, a flower on my hip, two video game characters on my ankles (Pip from Chrono Cross for those that know him), the Triforce on the back of my neck and a pig and rabbit on either foot. For me, the feet were definitely the MOST painful place.
I am excited to hear from others about this ^_^

How I feel about women with tattoos depends entirely on what the tattoos are and where. I see a lot of women that have tattoos that make them see trashy, but there are cute ones, too. I'm a big fan of ankle tattoos so that's where I got mine. It's a purple rose with a vine wrapping around. The worst pain was the leaf that hit right against the back of my heel and the part of the rose directly where there is no fat above my ankle. D;
I'd probably get another tattoo, but it'd have to also be something that I would not regret when I'm a saggy old lady. Maybe under the panty line if I lose weight or something. I don't know yet. Just has to be easily covered up for formal events or with business attire.

i love tattoos!! i only have one so far on my ribs of flowers. my husband isn't real keen on them, but i'm working on getting him to chill out so i can get another within the year hopefully. i'm torn between getting a butterfly on my anterolateral thigh just about the knee and flowers on the inside of my left arm (with the hopes of connecting those flowers with the rib flowers by a whole garden of beautiful flowers and butterflies someday). unfortunately i cannot get tattoos all over my arms as i would like to because of my work. though i think tats are becoming more accepted and more beautiful, because they are no longer just for burly men. as far as the body is a temple thing, all temples are decorated with statues, art, paintings, gold leaf etc. so i'd like to decorate mine just as beautifully! btw tikachu, ur hip flower sounds especially pretty to me! and i like the placement

I have one tatto and is small, i wanted to get another one on my ankle but people convinced me that it was too much, and now that I think about yeah they are right. I dont like big tattoos, or with color . . . is not my style. I friend had a tatto in the ankle and told me it hurts a lot, I didnt feel any pain at all, its on the left hand of my back

No way, only because I think to myself....what's it going to look like in my 40's when my skin isnt as tight and smooth? Probably not so hot, plus I'm pale, and the tattoo would be more obvious.

I want an anchor on my right upper arm, and a victorian style coinslot between my shoulder blades

I have 2 tattoos.A small ladybug on the inside of my wrist and under it the word Be in cursive. The Be is to remind me to be in the moment and the ladybug is just something I like. I won't get anymore cause I was 58 when I got these and I think they are enough. I love words and quotes and if I was to get another it would be"years of bad decisions rolling down her face".

I'd probably get an anchor because it's similar to my last name. XD But I'd have to find a way to make it girly and cute rather than "d*ke-y".
Fredfly, are you a fan of country, then? 'Cause I recognize that as lyrics. >.<

Tattoos arn't particularly unique. So many people have them, and there are only so many original designs. I admit to having quite a few, but those who say they're a way to express your identity confuse me. It's like saying you're unique because you follow the crowd

Haha thanks! My hip flower is from a personology book. It is the study of basing personalities from the date that you were born. For February 2nd the Day of Class, there was this amazing looking flower which I ended up getting done. Even though I was born on June 16th, I absolutely LOVED this flower. Not really the classiest lady myself, but oh well ^_^

Well, I don't really think there are "only so many" original designs, you can put literally ANYTHING on your body, so it's essentially a medium as limited as painting... which isn't considered limited, so... yeah.

I already have 3 smaller ones. I think I might do a backpiece later (my own design) on when I have a better economy then now...

I would love a tattoo! I would get a pair of wings on my lower back or/and a black and gold dragon twisting around my ankle.

i think tattoos are a great means of expressing something about yourself! you can choose a personal design that conveys a special meaning, or a "common" design that just looks pretty... i think both of these are valid endeavors. after all, how many girls do you know with diamond stud earrings? just because lots of people have it, doesn't mean it's any less pretty!
still, there is definitely a limit to the amount/type of tattoos any one girl can get before it starts looking trashy. i've found that it's different for every girl: some girls can pull off huge, colorful tattoos and still be the picture of class, but other are overwhelmed by the tattoo. another girl mentioned that being pale-skinned makes a tattoo more "obvious;" i think that might have something to do with it. i guess what i'm trying to say is, i think tattoos are great, so long as when someone looks are you they see YOU first, and not just "wow tattoo."

Yeah. I think a black dragon would suit my skin tone. I'm very pale. I think that too many tattoos start to look really bad on girls.

I think it's great how bright-colored my tattoo is because I'm so white. It really does stand out, but the colors are very pretty. They would have been dull/muted if I had inherited my mother's olive skintone. And will probably appear to fade out faster. Plus, I'm more likely to use sunscreen anyway, since I burn easily, which also makes tats last longer.

umai, diamond stud earings=perfect nail on the head!! actually, i love it the more i think of that analogy because not only do many women wear them because they're classy and beautiful, but every diamond is uniquely different somehow, even if not noticable at first

I hate tatoos... I would never get one or date someone with one. I think they are disgusting and even if you do like it, its so permanent. You cant change your mind.

I love tattoos, and should be going for mine a week or so! Its going to be a vine of deep purple bleeding hearts (the flowers) from my ancle to my foot, as a memorial for my Nanny who passed 4 years ago. Her favourite flower and colour. I have yet to decide if I am going to get writing yet.

nope never
Online

I have a tattoo on my upper left arm
My first and only thus far...I want to get a few more but since it's something that's permanent I want to make my choice carefully...I really like Erinnyes/Eumenides ( Three furies )
Maybe something like that ( The flying things not the whole image )...
Tisiphone ( Avenger of murder ) Megaera ( The jealous ) and Alecto ( Constant Anger )
Sorry I should've answered your questions...
What is your opinion of tattoos and about woman who have them? Do women that have them seem a bit more (pardon my english) haggard to you?
I love tattoos when they're tasteful...I don't like when people get tattoos just because they're "Cool"...Tattoos have a strong background to show ( In tribes ) when someone has matured or is a respected member of a group...It's suppose to mean something...Not because it's pretty or a spur of the moment thing...My one tattoo I spent years thinking about...And I'll probably spend more years thinking about another one...I'm proud of my first tat...It represents my family ( Who is Air Force )...And I've served for our military ( Through a civilian contract )...
It's difficult to not look at someone who is covered with tattoos...But I don't frown upon it...My only rules for tats are that they have profound meaning to the person with them...

Nope. It's a disgusting mutilation of natural beauty.

According to my boyf, in Japan, if you've got a tat you're immediately considered Yakuza and are kicked out of public baths (along with a load of other establishments)--the reasoning being that it's "unhygenic." Barely related, I know.
Personally I don't like tattoos. Sure they look fine when you're 20 but after you've gotten wrinkly and saggy, they look kind of bleh. There are a few places where tats can go that they stay fine and look OK well into your old age (ankles generally don't look too bad), though I'd never get one.
If you have ever read the Kushiel series by Jaqueline Carey, the main character gets a huge tat all over her back (its a good book so I shan't say any more lest you become interested). The only tat I've ever found even remotely sexy, lol, but that's probably because its in literature. :3
