hmmm you know, a pedo is a pedo and theyre going to get turned on by kids whether you dress them in bikinis or put them in a potatoe sack. It's not the clothing that sexualizes the child, its the inappropriate thoughts of the adults.  its like guns and violence...guns dont kill people, people kill people.  there is something to be said for tempation...but the child itsself is the temptation for a pedo in my opinion, not the clothing.  my point is that you could take all of the sexualized clothing out of the stores and dress every child appropriately and there would STILL be child preditors  out there, that is the sad truth of it. Personally i wouldnt dress my little ones in overly revealing clothing because theres no point to it, but just because i wouldnt doesnt mean that i'm not going to realize that my child could still be a target for a preditor. the real problem is that parents no longer parent their children in todays society. I see 3 and 4 year olds roaming the streets around here by themselves all the time and whether the clothing they are wearing is sexualized or not isnt going to matter one whit if a pedo walks down the street and decides to nab them!

Good point. I think had mentioned potatoe sacks before.

Speaking of not watching your kids, I saw two women in the street today talking and the two kids were all over the place. One of them almost got hit by a car, and neither woman noticed. My mom and I were standing across the street watching them, we were wondering how long it was going to take them to realize the little boy was probably going to eat the piece of dog poo he was poking at, then the little girl just suddenly ran out into the street, and if the driver didn't swerve I think he would have hit her.

It probably would have been really easy for anyone to have grabbed those kids.

My mom went over and told them your not watching your kids, that little girl almost got hit by a car, and the one  who's kid it was cursed out my mom. figures.

Re: Adult theme underwear do you think it right?

Well, it's hard considering I don't know the entire situation with your daughter (and I'm not about to read the four pages worth of threads here). If your daughter was "budding" and needed a training bra/bra, then her asking for one is totally understandable. I needed a training bra at that age because I developed quicker than most girls my age.

If she's not and she just wants one because she saw a bra in a clothing store for kids, then that's different. I'm a very petite person so at one point I was shopping in kids clothes and they had "older girl" type underwear there. I too was surprised. But my whole thought on it is as a parent, you are perfectly capable of buying her clothes elsewhere. As long as you have open communication with your child with why it may not be appropriate for her to wear those types of underwear (no age is too young to be open about sex!), then you shouldn't worry about what stores are selling. It may not be appropriate, but somewhere, someplace, it sells.

When I was little, I wore a bizarre one-piece swimsuit. Blue with back polka dots, and a skirt-like ruffle. My own daughters will wear the same sort of thing. Bikinis for young children weird me out, they don't need it!

Bratz has padded bras for little girls.  They are to "protect little girls from the embarrassment of development."

SPORTS BRAS AND GRANNY PANTIES!

I disagree, I think the more make up you wear in youth, the worse you look when you get older, (especially without the make up on so then you just have to wear more.)

I am sure your mom does look great though, there are exceptions to every (made up) rule wink

Re: Adult theme underwear do you think it right?

Well as for a pedo abducting a kid with or without overly sexy clothes that isnt' the reason I wouldnt' want my child wearing them, I wouldn't want her to cuz it isn't required, she isn't an adult and it isn't appropriate for a child in my opinion. Kids need to start acting more like kids and less like trying to be adults.

As for the parents not watching their kids, WOW! I have a 2.5 year old, I watch her like a hawk, I always have. I see parents at parks not paying any attention to their kids and then worry when they take off, no no, I don't do that. When my kid goes to the park I stay on the outside area and walk around the park basically following her with my eyes at all times, I can't believe others wouldn't watch their children.

I have to ask, BeautyRush, how you feel about yourself, if you think older women can only be pretty if they wear crap on their face....?  Do you think your mom is ugly without makeup?  Hrm... my my what a tangled web society weaves.  smile

In other news, my daughter and I have to go bathing suit shopping.  She's 12.  And she doesn't even WANT to wear a tankini, preferring a one - piece.  You know...it's HARD to find her one?  Because at 12 she's supposed to be flaunting it.  Really.  Meh.

Re: Adult theme underwear do you think it right?

Nope, my mom looks good either way. I wasnt only talking about makeup either, i'm talking about face products too, like moisturizers and face creams. Makeup I makes your skin look better as long as its not too much, but generally women who use no moisturizer, or exfoliants looks not great skin wise. You may think not wearing those things actually protects your skin, but we actually need moisturizers to maintain healthy skin and to prevent wrinkles. Makeup actually proctects your skin from sun, because most have built in minerals that protect your skin from the sun naturally.

As for adult themed underwear goes, if your child has breasts then she needs a bra, but other than that if she doesn't have any breast development then there is no need for one.

I think the part about ur child NEEDING a bar is a bit different on the fact that yes they can need a bra, but do they need one with tons of lace and all see through and so on... and do they NEED a thong, no no they don't.

Re: Adult theme underwear do you think it right?

I came to this topic as i was searching for a new swimsuit for my 8 yr old daughter and let me tell you, i read the whole topic and now I don't know if her whole wardrobe is appropriate now.

It's very similar to the following links:
http://styleglitz.com/wp-content/upload … ashion.jpg
http://images.exclusivechildrenswear.co … -09-10.jpg
http://images.exclusivechildrenswear.co … -promo.jpg

http://cache1.asset-cache.net/xc/878205 … 0B0D811297

What do ya think? I like it a lot. I like how people go "Loove your daughter's outfit! Where did you buy it?" and not "Wooow....you don't care what the kid's wearing, dont ya?"

On the swimsuit topic, on the other day she wanted to buy a swimsuit, and she actually said "trikini". Sure, why not? It's a one piece with some openings, how wrong can it be? So i found her a trikini like the rightmost one on the picture, but in pink and with a belly button hole:

http://www.eclipse-magazine.it/images/s … kini_3.jpg

but i also got her this UV swimsuit thingy:

http://www.equatorsun.com/stingray/lst3001s.jpg

I left her to make her own opinions on both the suits. Results? "Well, the trikini looks good but I liked how I didn't freeze in cold water with the other one. Also, it's not hot at all, it goes well with the rest of the swimming gear, and i think it looks kinda cool."

So she chose the UV thingy. I didn't went oldfashioned with the classic one-piece, but i didn't buy her a revealing bikini with a G-string.

As for underwear, nothing more than the classic slip and top. Nothing of this adult thingies. She is starting to grow some boobs on herself but not anything worth of a bra. And even when she grows some decent sized boobs, nothing more than a classic bra. I strongly disagree on this kids lingerie thingy.

And as for provocative clothing, I disagree too.

So comment below I wanna know some opinions.

Max, from the links I clicked on above, there is nothing wrong with any of them, except possibly the trikini. A trikini, like a bikini, is meant to accentuate curve, which prepubescent children don't have. >.X

Re: Adult theme underwear do you think it right?

you know something girls?i am not wearing a bra,not even now when i am 24,i had my first bra when i was 16 i guess, and i bought it  because i had to cover my breasts while wearing a see trough blouse.so,i guess generally,a bra is for a girl that needs support because her breasts are maybe too big.a bra is not for a 8 years old girl, and i would never buy one if i had a daughter.everything is so emancipated now,i hate it

Renel, do you know what emancipated means? o.O It means to be freed from some sort of restraint or control, whether it be social or parental.

Re: Adult theme underwear do you think it right?

A teacher once told me a few years ago back when he was my age (at the time was 17) Girls didn't have breast. Now look at girls these years.

I think it's a great idea for young women to start wearing bra's so they know that they should have some self respect and be taught at a decent age, but NOT wearing stuff you'd find in your own drawers as an adult. Young women are growing up too fast. My cousin's only 14 and she dresses older than me, and wears twice the amount of makeup I do sad

Well, she prefered the other one one anyway! She didn't like the trikini cause she froze on cold water when wearing it. (the other one keeps body temperature). I love how children are so "in your face" when it comes to these things...

A quick note, my wife is one of those who likes bikinis on children, but my daughter said to her "daddy knows what I like, mom. That is not appropriate" Not only i felt flattered as i came to 2 conclusions as well: A: moms are forcing their children to use them, and B: these children are not aware of it.

Re: Adult theme underwear do you think it right?

I needed a bra before I was eight years old. I developed very, very early. Except the difference was that I never wanted to wear mine! lol... I think it depends on every child about the bra situation. I don't think little girls need any underwear besides lil undies with barbies or wutever on them. Honestly, when they get older, they aren't gunna care what underwear you bought them!

Let "kids be kids" and adults be adults. I suppose it depends on the parents and what they think is right. Sad some parents want there kids to look like painted dolls instead of sweet little girls or boys:( I could make this a long conversation but I won't .

yes you think it wrong!
no you think it right!

I clicked on  voted 'yes you think it wrong' because I think it is wrong.

This thread was created and abandon in March.  Why did you feel compelled to resurrect it 8 months after the last post?  I'm going to have to close this now.  You would have been fine to make a new thread about your daughter's wardrobe and whether or not it was appropriate.  You should not post in threads that have not been posted in for over 6 months.  *Nod*

Closing.
