Tokis, it was just the example I could find. Giving an idea you know.
Ruffles on the bums of panties?? My mom and dad use to call those Rhumba pants. I had 1 pair and they were to wear under a dress but overtop of my underwear and stockings. It was kinda just something cute if I was horsing around. Note that I wore it once, to a wedding, I was the flower girl.... LOL!

Personally i think swimsuits like these are ideal for little girls;

When I was a little girl, I bathed/suntanned in pants only. Most girls did those days. There's really no difference in boys' and girls' torsos at that age.

Adult underwear is for adults (or teenagers depending on the age). IMO its really wrong when you see g-strings, lacy bras & thongs for children. I don't even like little girls wearing bikini's (I mean why?! Bikini's are supposed to accentuate the boobs & curvy hips, they are sexy swimwear, not for kids who don't have boobs or curvy hips etc!). Its like some parents want their little girls to look like pedobait!
Totally wrong."pedobait"?? This term makes me uncomfortable. It's not a child's fault when they get preyed on. If a child can be dressed in a way that entices a paedophile then surely you can argue that a rape victim can also entice their attacker? When I child gets molested it's because there's something wrong with the attacker, not their clothes.
(Besides wouldn't a child dressed like a child be more appealing to a paedophile than a child dressed as an adult?)
I never said it is the kids fault that he/she gets preyed on.
Definition of "pedobait";
http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=pedobait
Obviously i disagree with parents sexualising their kids (like"do they want their kids to look like pedobait or something?!") and thats why i said it was totally wrong. Its an unsettling word but i also think its unsettling that parents dress their little girls up in clothes that are far too old/sexual for them to be wearing.
If you had a 12/13 year old daughter would you let her go out with her friends wearing a shiny miniskirt, low-cut top and high heel shoes? No? Why? Because you don't want her to attract 'unwanted attention' because of the way she is dressed? Exactly.
So when i see parents dressing their girls (whether little or not) in sexual clothes, i really don't get what the parent is possibly thinking in that brain of theirs. There are a lot of dirty sick men out there, and while obviously a girl wearing sexy clothes is no excuse for a girl to be raped, you also as a parent don't want to draw unwanted attention to your girl if you can help it because whether you like it or not there are a lot of sick guys out there who would be turned on by seeing a little or young girl wearing a bikini or short skirt etc.
If you think there's nothing wrong in letting a young girl dress up sexy then i think you are wrong. And of course i don't condone rape of any sort, but i also think that dressing girls appropriately can help prevent them from attracting "unwanted attention".
Or maybe i am just too oldskool in my approach to all of this?

There's nothing sexual about little girls in bikinis. If anyone sees sexuality in a child wearing a bikini something's wrong with them.
Bras can cause a lot of back pain so unless a girl develops early she doesn't need one. I think girls should start out with training bras first.

Then they should just wear a pair of shorts without a top. But a bikini top highlights breasts, its what it was invented to do- to make boobs look sexier, to draw attention to them etc. On a little boobless kid it is just sexualising the kid for no reason (other than, i dunno, to attract the attention of dirty men?? Are some women so desperate to attract attention with their little girls that they don't care who's looking at them??)- parents have a duty to protect the innocence of their little kids, and i think dressing them like kids instead of dressing them like they are 10/15years older than they really are is important.
If wearing bikini's, mini skirts, lacy underwear etc is fine for girls who don't even know where babys come from yet, then where do you draw the line? Makeup for little girls? I bet soon we'll be seeing a whole new "cute" range of lipsticks & eye shadows next for little girls. Hell, why not get them heel trained when they are still young and have high heel shoes for them!
All of these things were invented for adult women and all have a certain basic sex appeal to them. Its why they look good. But IMO its also why they should stay on adults and not be introduced to little kids.
I do believe we have a problem with kids being exposed to sexual material & adult pressures too young in society, and i don't think issues like dressing little girls up in adult theme clothing is helping.CassandraKane wrote:

You serious? Lacy underwear & thongs are sexy underwear, they're not intended for little girls.
All-lace or with bits of lace so it would be see-through, yes that would be wrong. But trimmed with lace or with some embroidery is just normal. Though I would buy a child anything with lace sticking out, because I hated it when I was a child myself. It's uncomfortable.

Training bra???
To train what?
And you are wrong, properly fitted bra causes no pain, it even reduces pain for women with big breasts.

I agree, but there are people out there who would get turned on by seeing a young girl in a bikini, so why do parents want to dress their little girls in them when swimsuits are perfectly good for little girls?
Thats what i don't get- why choose to dress a little girl up in a bikini when you could dress her up in a swimsuit?

I was told by a woman working in a jail that peado's get turned on by babies just in their nappies...that is why some country's have banned ads with babies just in their nappies.....also not long back a beauty pagent child was murderd in a child snatch that went wrong...promoting children as sex objects incourages the wrong attention.

I can't see anything cute in that. For me it looks grotesque and inappropriate.

Well, I was bra-less and free.
I've got bikini when I started to have something to hide.

It's easier to change a diaper or take a kid to the toilets if they are in a two piece. If the bikini looks really bad the parent can put on a long t-shirt over it. I also notice at the stores in my area it's easier to find a two piece than a one piece. I'd be more worried about these children getting skin cancer then preyed upon.

Yeah I never had one like that. My first bra was of the elasticated type to give me support when I started having a chest to call my own.
Some of my friends wore "crop top" vests as a sort of transition stage but I never wanted to bother with them. I was lucky because my torso looked exactly like a boy's until just a few months before that first bra I had.
Back to bikinis I do realise some people do just think they are cute, nothing more. Thinking about it, I have seen pics of my older sister in one, even though my mother never bought one for me. She would have been at least 7 or 8 I think though. The younger the child, the ickier it gets for me. Like Krissie talking about trying to find one pieces for her *baby* daughter.

Yeah I mean I went to the stores, I tried Wal-Mart, Zellers (canadian version of wal mart), The Children's Place... all over to find a 1 piece bathing suite in a 12 month size.... and this is basically ALLLLL I saw:

NO WAY!!!! I finally found a little blue 1 piece bathing suite that had a little skirt thing around the bottom and had 2 yellow daisies on the straps, much better!!

Totally! I was nude within 5 seconds of being at the beach when I was little. Actually I would take my clothes off everywhere regardless of the season. All my parents did was pick them up and try to put them back on me. But I did always prefer the bikini's cause it was easier to pull the bottom down when your suits wet then a one piece when you have to go to the bathroom, when I was actually wearing a bathing suit. I was about 4 or 5 before I realized I should wear clothes.
I've never seen thongs or g-strings on little girls, I didn't even know they made them. That's a tad much.

I think you send the wrong message to your child by allowing adult themed underwear it's like giving them the ok to begin to act as an adult. a child needs to stay in a childs place this is the reason our children are growing up so fast. Parents need to be parents and need to stop trying to be their friend. They will have more respect for you if you set boundaries!

As for bikini's on toddlers you have to be very careful and protective of your children especially at the beach and anywhere else outside of your home because you don't know who's out there or who's watching there are some very sick people out there

Now with my null reply, I'll go into my reasons for a null vote.
Did I really have to read the last page to see how mothers objectify lust upon their children? Why do Adults need to project their desires upon a child?
I might wear some of the sluttiest undies ever, and I like them, but would I buy them for a child..... NO... DUHHHHH
Then as I was reading this thread, another thought comes to mind......
Who even would see the undies, anyhow?
I know I have some of the cutest, that have never been seen by any man, or woman.
So who is undressing your child? HUH!!!!!!!
What is the point of this poll, unless it is a perverted attempt at 'up-skirting', a young child.
I've only had male children, but I dreamed of dressing a female child. Guess what, she would be a beautiful as my 'Bimbo' but certainly not a tramp. Again I ask,
" Who is looking at your little girls underwear"
The sexuality of children, is a media sensation. Even toy commercials use it as a powerful message, to little girls.
TV media, promotes hyper sexuality, in everyday programming, so why expect less from a mother who has done nothing but give birth, and watch TV. She is doing what she has been taught.
I found it very interesting to learn that we have a new Admin. who worked on 'reality TV' I hope she can make a comment or two.......
TV in America has become so disgusting to me, I tossed every set in the dust heap of old news............ Who really needs to watch a show about STD's then a commercial about condoms, then watch a gay couple kissing in a mall, pushing a stroller, while buying sex toys, discussing the joy of extra cream in the coffee.
Yet you wonder why little girls are becoming sexually active, at such a young age.....
'Milk' It does a body good.
Your not sexy till you buy these jeans.
'Touch a naked man the way he wants you to' on the cover of a magazine, in the checkout line, at the grocery store.
There is so many examples of your daughter being sexualised before the age of 5, and 10X's more after she can read. Then for a mother to add to the equation her own unreleased dreams......... YIKES.....
I have to stop there....... It made me sick to think that way.
The feminist movement, is the biggest threat to female children.
The mantra of, "It's your body." does nothing to teach responsibility.
Sex Sex Sex, and pleasure, will make the message of love seem meaningless.
It's your body, but do you treasure it?
A little girl might never know love...........
because Sex was taught as a 'fact of life'.
I wonder how many women confuse good sex with love?
Was it your panties that made it good?
Do you desire that for your daughter, while still a child?

it depends on what you mean by adult theme and im not sure what a cami style vest is but...
i went to the store the other day and was in the girls section for my daughter when i found lacy black padded push up bras that i had to stare at for a minute just to figure out if they were in the wrong section in my opinion that was very wrong because what does a little girl need with all that? but at the same time if a girl needs a bra or training bra - whatever i have no issues with that i just dont think they need to get into the details of padding and push-up...and lacy little black things...
as for thongs... i remember being 11 years old in the locker room at school while my friends showed off their new thongs and how cute they were to the other girls. I'll admit at the time I wanted one to but more so that I wouldn't be the only one with those embarassing panty lines showing through my pants but now days looking back that was all kind of ridiculous
for swimwear i dont see whats the big deal about bikinis thats the parents choice i personally dont buy them for my daughter because i figure i might as well put her in a one piece while i still can but she does also have i 2 piece i kind of prefer...
i think the one piece is cuter but the 2 piece is so much easier to get off after shes been swimming plus its so much more convenient when my daughter has to use the restroom but no, its not a bikini
this is the style of it...

My husband sister when she was about 12 had this t-shirt with hand prints on the breast area.....she soon stopped wearing it when my husband asked her if she wanted boys to grab that area...he very protected off her as he practally brought her up with their being a 17 year age gap.

I don't think anything is wrong with a bikini on a kid. Its not really made to be sexual, its just made to be cute, especially down here, all women wear bikinis. If you wear anything else you get weird looks. Plus bikinis get less sand in them, which means a less fussy kid.
On T-shirts:
I think part of being a teenager that young is embracing your newfound sexuality. Some of the shirts are pretty lewd, I agree. But I think teens like it because it showcases something new to themselves and new to everyone else that age. Heck I wore two T-shirts from 13 to 17; one had a monkey hanging from a branch and it said "WELL HUNG" in bright green letters across it and the other had a squirrel holding two giant acorns that said "bigger than yours" along the bottom of the picture.
Most shirts with those implications aren't too bad I don't think, because 12/13 is right when teenagers start realizing sexuality in general, and they want to show it off to their peers.
